Crouthers Academy Eureka
Two-year-olds are growing fast—physically, emotionally, and socially. At Crouthers Academy, our Two-Year-Old Program helps toddlers navigate this exciting (and sometimes challenging) stage with patience, structure, and plenty of encouragement. We nurture their curiosity while supporting big developmental leaps like toilet training, language bursts, and emotional regulation.
We know two-year-olds love to say "I do it!” Our teachers support this drive toward independence by allowing children to make age-appropriate choices and participate in self-help tasks like dressing, washing hands, and cleaning up after activities.
Our staff partners closely with families to support potty training in a consistent, positive way. We celebrate successes, encourage routines, and help each child progress at their own pace with lots of praise and patience.
Two-year-olds are active learners. Our curriculum is built around hands-on experiences that promote language, fine motor skills, and social development. Activities include:
This is an age of big emotions. Our caregivers model kind behavior, help children name and express their feelings, and guide them through early problem-solving. Through group play and routines, we support cooperation, sharing, and positive social interactions.
Two-year-olds are developing vocabulary at lightning speed. We support this growth with rich language experiences, from songs and rhymes to story time and conversation. Teachers encourage children to use their words, ask questions, and express their ideas.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to encourage exploration while keeping safety top of mind. With child-sized materials, clearly defined learning areas, and engaging toys, our environment supports focused play and creativity.
